For cyclists who want maximum power transfer but still a small amount of float, Shimano's blue SM-SH12 cleats are the answer. Placing the pivot point at the front eliminates lateral sliding, while a small angle change from the pivot back towards the heel is still allowed, so your foot is not completely locked in place.

Looking for more freedom of movement? The yellow SM-SH11 offers 6° of float.

Compatibility

Fits Shimano SPD-SL (3-bolt) road pedals, including the Ultegra PD-R8000. Spring tension for clipping in and out is adjusted on the pedal to suit your preference.
